So my car's insurance card expired a few days ago, and there isn't enough time for my father to send me the new (valid) insurance card and for me to receive it before I leave. (So when I drive the 400+ miles home, I won't have a valid auto insurance card on me, though my coverage would be active & paid for.) Earlier today at around 7pm I was in my first car accident. I just got my license a month ago and I am 16. Anyways, I was at a red light and the turning lane had a green light but my lane ( going straight ) was red. I was the first in my lane and some guy in a brand new mustang smashes into the back of my car ( 2003 Lexus ES 300 if that helps any ). The airbags didnt deploy but I did hit my head and my neck kind of hurts. My mom was the passenger and told me to deal with it because she just got out of the hospital. The first thing I noticed was he was exiting the maps app on his phone when he got out of the car. Maybe he was on his phone when he hit me? Anyways, the other driver and I exchanged insurance cards and licenses and I noticed he was from Maryland and we are in California. The car was a rental and he didnt mind if I reported it. Now, here are my questions. Why didnt the airbags go off if I was hit? ( I was in neutral btw because I read that it saves gas ) and if I report this accident will my insurance go up even if it wasnt my fault?

Even though I not only applied with them, I was accepted by them, I paid the January premium back in December, and they have already covered two of my prescriptions. I am their client, not just an applicant. So since Blue Shield thinks that I'm not even their client, that they think I never paid them the very first premium which I did and have proof of, can I ditch them and choose a new insurance company or do I have to wait for the next open enrollment? At first the agent told me my son's policy would cover the accident and pay for my son's car but I would have to pay for my deductible. Fine, sounded fair...and I was told don't file a police report. Now I have been given several different excuses as to why my son's car cannot be fixed. First I was told I own his car. Not true!! and we have different insrurance policies, then I was told we have the same policy..WE DO NOT! Then I was told you can't collect if the person is a relative at your residence. What is going on! This is a WELL KNOWN insurance company and we are shelling out big bucks for these policies. Any insight or advice.

How much do you think my Motorcycle insurance would be? for a 250CC bike?

I signed up for a motorcycle MSF class to get my license and to get experience riding a bike. I plan on getting a 250cc bike because I think it's what suits my needs and desires of what I want out of a motorcycle. Also, I don't need anything bigger/faster because I'm quite a daredevil and broke my back 3 years ago. Anyways, I'm 25 now and have matured enough to know my limits and to take it easy. Well, one of my main concerns is the cost of insurance. As of now I pay $330 a month for my car insurance. I have somewhat of a bad driving record, and that's why my auto insurance is pretty high. But i haven't done anything too crazy, like no DUI's or license suspensions. Only 1 speeding ticket too out of all these years. Anyways, i've been looking primarily at the Honda CBR250r. What would you guesstimate i will be paying for insurance? A quote for the average coverage and for leisure purposes only too. Thanks.
